School Counselor Roles and Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of a school counselor is to counsel students to fully develop each student’s academic, career, personal, and social abilities (2 TEC §33.006).
Implementation Cycle & Program Design
The Program Implementation Cycle, introduces a process for tailoring the program model to suit local needs. The program implementation cycle requires five separate steps of organizing, planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating (Texas Education Agency, 2018, p. 35).
Service Delivery Components
School counselors support the educational, career, personal, and social development of all students through the four school counseling program service delivery components of Guidance Curriculum, Individual Planning, Responsive Services, and System Support (TEC §33.005).
